Start with a source people already trust
Use the document that currently defines the work: a guide, checklist, policy, course outline, data summary, diagram, or public web page. The video should make that source easier to follow, not replace the current version.
Before creating, decide what the viewer should be able to explain, choose, or do after watching. That outcome is a better outline than simply copying every heading from the source.
Turn source structure into a visual path
Group the source into a small number of beats. A beat can introduce a question, compare two options, show a sequence, make an exception visible, or end with the next action.
- Use diagrams or a flow when the viewer must make a decision.
- Keep a real object or screen in view when a physical step matters.
- Keep policy dates, live data, and detailed exceptions in the source document.
